How the Pandemic Forced Wrestling Media to Evolve

On March 12th, 2020, the sports world was turned upside down. Most of the general sporting public was shocked as the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments were canceled due to the spread of COVID-19; however, anyone reading this article first thought about the wrestling events that were lost. For weeks and months, wrestling fans were left to contemplate “what could have been” for the lost 2020 NCAA (and NAIA) Championships. We went into a hangover of sorts with no wrestling action and a host of “Best of..” “All-Decade..” articles as the only content to quench our appetites. As the world tends to do, with more and more time spent in quarantine, the wrestling media has begun to evolve and has done so for the better.
