Splitting up the boys and girls tournament

PreviousPage 2 of 2

I agree boys and girls need to be held together for the time being. However, it will only be a few short years until the girls brackets are completely full and there will be more weight classes…probably 14 or 13. At that time it will most likely need to be held at a different weekend. Until then, wrestlers are used to being in the gym the whole day, as are parents. Let’s not try to capitalize on two sessions for the gate and just have a one day pass. Wrestle strait through so the kids are out of the gym at a reasonable hour so they can rest, cut weight, or whatever. Start at 9 and be done by 6 both days.

How bout going back to a 3 day schedule with duals mixed in?

Day 1

1st round INDY...followed by Duals.

2nd session:  QT Finals ONLY....Highlight the QT Finals for evening viewing!

Day 2

1st & 2nd Rd WB INDY...Followed by Dual Semi-Finals & Consolation (if you even wat to have those)

2nd Session:  Semi-Finals INDY....followed by Dual Placing

Day 3 placing and Finals INDY only

Definitely don’t like the idea of mixing duals in with individual tournament. Top kids sit out to prevent injury and other things. Having the duals at a separate time definitely makes them more competitive.
