Staff Recommendation: Approve

Deviate from 2023 NFHS girls weight classes for the 2023-24 school year by setting the upper weight in girls wrestling at 250 pounds instead of the 235 pound weight class.

Establish a Separate Girls State Wrestling Tournament

Establish a Girls Wrestling Regions State Qualifier

Staff Recommendation: Approve with further discussion on implementation time line.

Proposal #5 Dual Team Region Qualifier for State Team Duals -
With the boys dual team state qualifier we would use seeds 5-12 to dual each other at the high seed (5v12, 6v11, 7v10, 8v9) on Tuesday of NFHS Week 33 for qualification at the state duals. Seeds 1-4 gain automatic qualification. Teams must declare their intention to participate in the state duals by Jan. 1 of the current season. Removing yourself from state dual consideration after this date will result in ineligibility in state duals for the ensuing two wrestling seasons.

Staff Recommendation: Approve with further discussion on implement time line. There might be more to come here, I am hearing...regarding state duals.
