I must not be familiar with the policy you're talking about here. The kids are at +2 Thursday +3 Friday +4 Saturday right? would a school cancellation allow an extra pound for some reason?

By rule...yes....IF your school cancels school the day before a weigh in you get an extra pound.   I do believe that is the rule.  Since you couldn't practice I believe is the justification.
