I agree for escapes and reversals. Those are not terribly important statistics in my opinion. However, I would argue that near falls is much more than not being able to pin someone. A deadly tilt is huge positive in todays wrestling world, especially with a 4 point near fall in college.

Although I agree getting tilts/near fall and being a pinner are slightly different, I feel near falls records are more of a school/team record to keep rather than a state wide one. In my opinion, a wrestler that is getting a lot of near fall points is winning many matches by major, tech, or pin (probably will get some just as a product of putting people on their backs) which are easier to keep and comprehend.
Not sure if high school would adopt a 4 point near fall, but I would be a fan of college out of bounds for sure!

Yes the lists need to be updated. RC Stevens has at least three, 3-timers not on the list, and two of them are probably up there in career pins and most wins in a season. I can think of two who were 50-0 or better in a season. Cael Larson, RCC was over 50 wins at least twice. Aero, Jarrett, and Kris too. Seth from Sturgis was a 4-timer and Kessler a 3-timer.
