It is so much deeper than I will not quit!
There are several things I find myself thinking over and over again with this book is: How does this apply to me? How can I use this? Do I subscribe to the message being delivered? I am searching my soul for good answers. (Good books do that… Make you think) Follow me again as a bring some understanding about me before my analysis of this section.
I have always thought of myself as a man of reason, a man who loves to listen and experience things that other great leaders in my life have to offer. I enjoy more than anything being a fly on the wall listening to wrestling coaches teach, inspire, console, listen, cry with their athletes. I always want to know what makes certain people tick.
I have always thought of myself as a man of faith, a man who strives to live their life in accordance with the values and principles of their religion or spirituality, such as compassion, forgiveness, hard work, and generosity. I pray, I love, I cry, I am moved in his presence, yes I believe.
I will be honest with you, I struggle with the statement of “Faith over Reason”
To me, to have faith over reason in this context would mean that one believes in the power of persistence and determination, even when there may be no logical or rational reason to believe in their eventual success.
Having faith over reason in the context of “I will persist without exception” could involve a belief in the power of positive thinking, visualization, or the law of attraction. It could also involve a belief in divine intervention or the power of prayer.
In some cases, having faith over reason in the context of persistence and determination could be seen as a form of blind optimism, where one is unwilling to acknowledge the potential for failure or the need to adjust one’s approach in the face of challenges.
** Note for me to me** it is important to note that having faith over reason does not necessarily mean ignoring reason altogether. It is possible to have faith in one’s ability to persist without exception while also acknowledging the need for realistic planning, problem-solving, a clear vision, and adaptation.
Ultimately, having faith over reason in the context of “I will persist without exception” may mean different things to different people, and it is up to the individual to determine what role faith and reason play in their pursuit of perseverance and determination.
I am a very goal driven person have faith that it will get done is why I have stopped in the past, realistic real world issues… makes faith hard… No one ever said to me before that faith is easy! So reason has won many time, I just might have to let go a bit more.
