Racking up over 300 points Brandon Valley wins Region 2A
Behind eight region champions and 13 state qualifiers the Brandon Valley Lynx claimed the Region 2A wrestling title on Friday.
The Lynx racked up 303 points ahead of Harrisburg (247.5) and Sioux Falls Lincoln (132.5). Beresford/Alcester-Hudson (128.5) and Yankton (111) rounded out the top five.
Brendon Oehme (106), Trevon Oehme (113), Jordan Oehme (132), Alex Mentzer (138), Treason Oehme (145), Lucas Slack (170), Elijah Schunke (182) and Navarro Schunke (285) all claimed region titles for Brandon Valley.
Harrisburg also had a strong day with four region champions. Tyler Wurth (120), Carter Ratcliffe (126), Logan O’Connor (152) and Jack Detert (195) all won region titles.
Beresford/Alcester-Hudson’s Peyton Fridrich (160) and Sioux Falls Washington’s Abraham Myers (220) won individual titles for their respective schools.
