I never thought this kid was inexperienced in that he hasn't wrestled many matches.  I'm talking about experience at like High School state wrestling.  It's a whole different atmosphere than almost any tournament.  Lot's of kids get rattled.

Wes,

I know you didn't mean that.  I was just pointing that out, many of you probably already knew that.  Yes, being a 7th grader on that type of stage will definitely build some nerves.

Coaching staff can make you an amazing wrestler, but they can't take away how you feel.

One good thing blees has going for him is that he doesnt put too much thought into wins and losses. watching him come off the mat after a win or a loss he doesnt make it look like a big deal at all. i think this shows that he isn't feeling the pressure that a lot of young kids would when they have success.

Blees pinned Shepard
Nagel pinned Decoteau
Cassezza beat Berger 11-4
Wright Got Pinned at 125 by North. I think the same guy from north beat Brendal from Bismarck 14-11. Those two are ranked 2 and 3. I didnt see the North guy on there.
Those are some of the big matches I saw or heard about

Just got off the telephone with my son Jon, he said Mandan had a good day. They went 3-0 today, beating Park Rapids, Central and Fargo North.

Nope I'm saying that if you are nervous your coach isn't going to say something magical and make it go away.  If your coach had that ability I'd like to meet him.

You would, but I just can't put my faith in a 7th grader to pull it off.

Ryan has plenty of experience and has wrestled against my son for years. My son is a freshman. it is just how their birthdays fall. He may be a 7th grader but he has been wrestling better competition his whole life and I believe he has been wrestling for about 9 years.

I agree that they can help to calm them and if you are prepared they are lessened, but it still something that a wrestler has to deal with on their own.
