We all have favorites, we want to win, that's what sports are about.  I had two former wrestlers of mine who's children, won state championships today..  Jared Reis and Steven Weigel.  I hardly know the kids, but I am very happy for the kids, their parents and coaching staff.  Napoleon, is where my heart reposes for the good people there. Their true and never give up ND attitude.   Barry McCleary an Irish man in Napoleon (imagine that) ha, ha, brought some vision and maybe just a little luck of the Irish. He is native of Indiana, the Hoosier state.  I don't know what a Hoosier really is, I was told its a cross between a bulldog and a bear-cat. Ha ha .... What it really comes down to, Barry had a vision, with community (parent) support.  Hard work pays off....Congratulations to all that wrestle, remember it take two to wrestle have a buddy join you.  Special congratulations to South Boarder and Oakes for your championships,. God bless you all, and keep you safe until we meet again.

Well said! I'd also like to congratulate all of the ND hall of fame inductees.  Especially Mr. Voegeli who keeps me informed all season long of region 1 since I can't be there to watch in person most of the time.  Great announcer and glad to have him in our region.  Also Dusty Swanson for all the hard work he's done that sometimes flies under the radar.  Also want to congratulate TJ Poole on his state championship from one of his many former coaches.

I think that Sean Elkins really showed alot of class throughout the weekend.  What his team went through and him to still sit on top of the podium is pretty neat.

It was fun to watch Sean Elkins and his father, current Minot State Wrestler Deon Buhl, warming up and drilling together on Saturday.
