Sun Devils learn to frickin read.  Go back and read the pot shots he took at ME, not any one team.  This has nothing to do with you.  Do yourself a favor and stay out of it.  I have every right to defend myself when someone takes a personal shot.

I totally agree with you having the right to defend yourself.  Not sure I would go about it by insulting high school boys to do it, but hey you're the one who knows hot to "take the high road"  If you must know I haven't replied anything because I spent my weekend traveling to Bismarck and back to watch the final day of wrestling. If you want to change the perception of the type of person you are from these posts you have again failed to do so, and it seems I'm not the only one who gets a lot of negative vibes from you.  Great tournament.  three dogs in the fight all the way to the end.  Couldn't ask for more excitement.  Congrats to Oakes and South Border on bringing state championships back to region 1.  If it can't be Lisbon at least it's from the region.  Both teams went out and worked their butts off to get those wins.  Good work Lisbon and Carrington for putting up such a good fight.

We had the privilege to move from the "nose bleed" section to the bottom seats for the Dual finals. We were cheering after the finals and the first ones to shake our hands were the Lisbon wrestlers below us, Dylan Urbach and Jace Berg, they are the two I can remember distinctly, there were others and thru my emotions I can't remember there names. THAT took class, we as adults can and should learn from the kids sometimes. Congrats to Oaks and South Border on Team awards and a special congratulations to all the individual champions ( one 126 pound-er especially ;) )!!!

Congrats to all the Region 1 wrestlers!  1st and 2nd place in the Dual Championships (Great job South Border and Lisbon) and 4 of the top 7 teams in the individual teams (Congrats Oakes, South Border, Lisbon and Napoleon).  I would say one heck of a weekend for all of Region 1!

...But after the way Lisbon layed down over the weekend I would imagine you'll just let it go...
As for Lisbon "laying down" over the weekend I couldn't disagree more.  Aberle and Mairs, both senior could have just given up after two heartbreaking losses in the semis, but they came out and wrestled their way back to both get third.  Joe Nelson upset the two and three seeds on his way to the state championship match.  Even Lisbon's two wrestlers that didn't place in the tournament scored points for the team by winning matches.  They wrestled their butts off and for some guy, who still seems to be living in his high school rivalry days, to come on here and say they laid down is a travesty.  If you want to attack me go for it, but leave the kids out of it, I have been.  If you want to prove me wrong about who you are then lets hear your story.  PM me if you don't want to world to know and I'll keep it to myself.

Region 1 again proved to be th wrestling powerhouse of ND this past weekend!

Not only did we win both the dual and individual team titles we recorded 45 out of 112 placewinners (40%) and 7 individual champs (50%) and 5 runner ups. 12/28 finalist 42% isnt too bad!

And 4 out the top 7 team scores isnt too bad either!

Congrats to Oakes and South Border! and the rest of region 1!

I've vowed to be quiet on this forum because of the sensitivity some folks have.  One side predicts a championship, one side says good luck with that, then it becomes this big b&*% fest.  I guess I feel if one side has something to say they should allow the other side to respond and not come unglued.  Anyways, this past weekend was the most memorable sporting experience I have ever seen.  The emotions were like a roller coaster at Disneyland.  If Lisbon wanted to lay down they certainly could have a week ago and prevented us from having the opportunity to even be in the state tournament.  They didn't.  That shows class and guts. The emotions from our kids after winning the dual was a direct result of knowing how this opportunity easily couldn't have happened and the culmination of representing Region I and yes winning state and beating a Region I rival.  I don't see this changing for the next 3 years as I don't see Oakes, Lisbon and South Border going backwards. As long as Oakes continues to win, this will only make Region I better and ultimately wrestling better. I hope we can contribute to this as well.  The rivalry makes the sport better.  I love the fact Region I fans can sit in the same section.  This would not happen in any other sport without the need for extra security.  It was nice to hear Lisbon kids congratulating our fans as they walked by.  I know for a fact Oakes wrestlers did the same thing last year for us as well.  Great rivalries also should mean great respect.  I think we(Region I) have that.  I say "damn Oakes won it again" not out of spite, but out of respect. I also say "we beat Lisbon" out of respect.  For us to be able to say we beat Oakes and Lisbon is a tremendous statement because we know the quality of both programs and the quality in Region I.  Thanks to everyone who congratulated South Border.
