If your a 3 time state champ in ND you have pretty much established your credibility.  The fact that he didn't win the tournament the last two years says alot for the quality of competition in this tournament.  Two years in a row he has came down to Aberdeen to face a stacked weight class.  Four wrestlers took their first loss of the year at this tournament.  Pretty amazing this time of year.  I had no hard feelings with Jordan winning the OW award.  He was a force.  I just thought when the competition is so close for this award it should go to a senior like Cain.  Cain pinned his way through the toughest weight class in the tournament including a 3X state champion in the championship match.  Seriously what more do you want!!!

In an effort to be a "the glass is half full kind of guy", at least he spelled "granite" correctly.   I'm not sure what an extremely hard rock has to do with the post but at least working on those spelling words back in grade school paid off in some respect.  Probably needed to spend a little more time on the grammar thing.

Shepard lost yesterday in nd dual tournament 11-1 to Pirtle from Bismark who was jv last year and did not go to state.  Shepard also lost yesterday in individual nd state to lindsey of Dickinson who did not place in top 8 at state last year.  Granted those that beat Shepard are not 3x'rs they proved to be tough as granite and soared like an eagle child !

Since you can only focus on Anjelo Shepherd (correct spelling) losses instead of accomplishments and basically called the kids that beat him nobodys, I will enlighten you with a few more facts. Although you must have several titles and credentials of your own that give you the right to pass judgement on these fine young men, you do not know everything. Did you know Anjelo broke his ankle in the second period of his quarter-final match and yet still won? Did you know he only lost his semi-final match 4-3 with one leg? Did you know he was bumped up to 145 during the dual championship and was defeated by the new state champion yet avoided the pin or forfeit? He hung in there for the team. Lindsey won second place at 138, Pirtle won first place at 145, and Anjelo finished 6th. I prefer to focus on the positive and congratulate these fine young men on their accomplishments on and off the mat. What you prefer to focus on is up to you.

Oh shoot I missed the memo about listing our accomplishments in life before posting facts and participating in the banter.  Did you want to know all titles held in life or just wrestling ones?..and which would be most important?.. U go first...

Along with taking the credit and accolades with the many great wins it would be a travesty to choose to ignore the complete resume, realistically this is healthy and gives proper perspective say in recruiting. Who did ya beat, and who did ya lose to are equally important measuring sticks embrace it, for example earlier last week Angelo was beaten 11-3 by blees of bismark at 138 this says something about both wrestlers Each of us can discern many things from the analysis

Oh shoot, you should may be get the facts straight.  Blees did beat Shepherd in Grand Forks in the middle of January at 145 not 138 and if you don't think the weight change is a difference then why do so many wrestles cut a weight class come regions and state?  Like you said the others soared like an eagle child but even eagles find it hard to fly with only one wing

So, I'm not trying to make a big thing of this, but I believe it's kind of a joke from about 2 weeks ago. I don't think there is a microbe of malice in what mr. Joea posted.

Anjelo has the chance to be a (best case scenario) 5x champ, and a 6x placer, more or less. All in all, pretty damn impressive. Don't think anyone is disrespecting him.

Im sincerely disappointed that Angelo was not in the finals at state, as I and many were hoping
to see the Blees-Shepherd for all the marbles...

kudos to him for bumping up when asked to for his team..!

and more bummed to know that Angelo got injured as that likely put a significant damper on
training for summer and beyond...hope like heck he heals fast and uses these posts at fuel
for the fire...!!!!

incidentally we could possibly share some banter in person at what has grown to be my favorite tournament
the Bismark Rotary.....and this year many of us thought Monteith of Sturgis deserved a good shot at at
OW for coming out ahead of Angelo (because of his caliber) in a great match...that is meant to say something very positive about both..
