What is so fascinating I find about Brock is that when he was in the WWE people were not looking at him as a role model or anything like that as there is no way he is that big naturally, maybe now but surely not during his WWE days.  Now that he was in the UFC and did a few cool things he is all of a sudden a role model and someone to be proud of.  Why are they proud of him now but not then?  It is neat that anyone who is from the SD area and involved in wrestling in a small way can relate to him.  I am glad he got out when he did, not like Chuck Liddell who had to get knocked out 10 times in a row before retiring.  The fact he became champ in such a short time is great but it was all set up, he really didnt have enough fights to really deserve the title shot when he did, only bc of who he is.  I have seen other great fighters like Clay Guida who really should have got a title shot against Frankie E but they had him fight and loose against Ben Henderson.  Clay was on a 4-5 fight win streak I think.  Brock was on a 1 fight win streak.  All in all, he is a huge star making millions, more then any of us can say.

On the way up to the state A tournament in Aberdeen, I pointed to my team the farm where Brock grew up, nothing much there.  The family never had much, but they were hard headed and tough.  It's what got Brock to where he is today.
